This was a piece I created around the time I was studying the artist Jackson Pollock who influenced a modern abstract style on canvas such as this but a much more grand, and expert, scale. I also became interested in the waste we left behind as artists with all the paint remnants almost anywhere except the canvas. I explored these ideas through this opportunity and this was the resulting piece.
I prepared this canvas with a layer of gesso before dripping several layers of acrylic paint on top. I then layered several textures of paint drippings into the final composition.
The final combination of colors and textures draws you into the 3D like feel of the canvas. The contrast of vibrancy and white space is an aesthetically pleasing final composition.
A lucky buyer will be pleased to own this original abstract piece. The painting is unframed but can easily be framed to match the style of your home. The piece can also be hung vertically or horizontally as you see fit.
