A group of stay-at-home moms from Nebraska founded a group to help other churches and archdiocese put together plans to find funding and support while launching a project to help entice young people back into the church. We were creating trading cards for them and ultimately made a logo for the organization as well. I had the opportunity to collaborate in the logo concept and design as well as create the framework design template to be used in the trading card set.
I collaborated with other design team members to establish the visual identity through ideating and conceptualizing logo mark options. We then tied this into the organizational collateral and custom trading card set so they could market and display to the larger church base, leadership and participants.
We established a concrete logo that visually represented the definition of "Vocat" and the group itself. “Vocat” (vóh-kot) is the Latin word for “He calls”. We produced a logo and identity that emulated the priest and incorporated the definition of Vocat to represent the group visually. I developed a custom design for the St. Vianney trading cards for the priesthood card design categorized by region.
The logo and trading cards were a huge success in Nebraska and their local communities. The media featured a story on the group of moms and their efforts in establishing this organization. The trading cards were used statewide in efforts to engage their younger members and create unity throughout the institution.
